In early 2025, the NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) Library partnered with Springshare to conduct an accessibility review evaluating LibGuides content against Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards. While the report provided valuable insights, the real work was translating those findings into improvements. 

Autumn Roberts, Digital Services Librarian, will share how NWACC moved from assessment to action through a practical approach to accessibility. Attendees will learn how the library trained staff with varying levels of accessibility experience, divided remediation work into manageable steps, and used external accessibility tools to support the process. 

This 1-hour presentation will cover:

  • Brief overview of Springshare's Consulting Services
  • Tips for optimizing an accessibility review
  • How report findings led to practical improvement steps
  • Future plans for ongoing accessibility work
  • Time for Q&A

Autumn Roberts is the Digital Services Librarian at NorthWest Arkansas Community College. Autumn oversees the library’s technological infrastructure, including the website, computers, circulating equipment, and library databases. She is currently preparing the library for upcoming ADA Title II deadlines by leading website accessibility improvements and training staff to ensure compliance and inclusive access for all users.
