Learning Lab: Don’t Let Them Go! Re-Engaging Lapsed Users with Patron Point

Thursday, November 20, 2025
10:30am - 11:30am (Eastern Time - US & Canada) change time zone

About:

Explore how Barrie Public Library in Ontario, Canada welcomed users back to the library. To keep their records current, patron accounts are deleted from the ILS after four years of inactivity. Recognizing an opportunity to use Patron Point to re-engage these patrons, Melissa Foster and her team created a series of three emails with information about new services, collections, and updates from the previous four years, achieving an annual conversion rate of 10%.

In this session, you will learn how to identify the patrons you want to target, craft content with a growing sense of urgency, and track your results. Before you delete patrons from your system, remind them of the power of a library card and what they'll be missing out on!

This 1-hour presentation will cover:

  • Variables with lapsed users & what to consider with Springy Lyndsay
  • Identifying the segment you want to target
  • Crafting engaging emails that encourage the patron to renew
  • Tracking results to measure success
  • Time for Q&A

Registration is required. There are 500 seats available.
