Imagine this: you’ve invested a significant amount of time and effort designing a customer survey, carefully crafting each question to ensure you’ll collect data that leads to meaningful insights about your library services. The responses start coming in, and you quickly realize that one age group has dominated the replies, skewing the results and making them less representative of your cardholders as a whole. This is a common challenge faced by libraries, including the Maricopa County Library District (MCLD), which conducts an annual customer survey across its 15 branches in a vast, diverse county.

Reaching the right people and getting them to respond can be a real struggle. To tackle this, Samantha Mears from MCLD will share how they leveraged Patron Point’s Segments and SMS features to enhance their survey outreach. By using Segments to create goals and target the right audience, and SMS to deliver the survey, MCLD not only boosted response rates but also ensured a more representative sample of their customers took part.
