Designing on a Budget: Using LibGuides to Transform Our Library's Website

The Frank Ritchel Ames Memorial Library is a small health sciences library that serves Rocky Vista University’s 2,000 community members across two geographically diverse campuses, Colorado and Southern Utah. Over the course of the last five months, the Library completely reimaged our virtual presence through a complete redesign of our Library's website using LibGuides.

We utilized new features, such as image carousels, the A-Z database page, and the system wide Blog to improve the visibility and accessibility of our collection. The Library’s team explored different avenues of ‘designing on a budget’ by integrating third-party applications using Springshare’s embedded design. Using software that the Library has access to through the University, in combination with a variety of new and enhanced features in LibGuides 2.0, the Librarians we able to build a website that encourages engagement, supports research, and promotes use.
